October 14, 2008, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, October 13th, 2008 -- U.S.-based Collins, ranked among the world's top 10 reinsurance brokers, and Brazil-based Especializada Re have entered into an agreement under which the two companies will serve as exclusive correspondent brokers for the placement of reinsurance for insurance companies based in Brazil.

November 25, 2008 - Best's Insurance News reported yesterday that commercial insurers were heartened in the third quarter by the first glimmers of hope that a brutally soft insurance market is beginning to harden. Many reported that rates were starting to flatten, or at least that they saw a marked slowing of the price cuts that have been handcuffing profitability.
