The Gulf Coast Builders Exchange was originally formed in 1952 by a small group of Sarasota contractors. Their initial objectives were simple... to serve the business needs of local building contractors and to promote "members working with members."
The organization never lost sight of these objectives and, as a result, today it has grown to include over 330 member companies doing business in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. The Exchange takes pride in the fact that its members include some of the most respected and influential companies in the area.
The membership of the Exchange includes contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, architects, engineers, attorneys, insurance companies, and other affiliated industries. It concentrates its efforts on the building industry in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Wholly owned by the membership, the Exchange is a not-for-profit, 501(C)(6), trade organization operated by a volunteer Board of Directors representing a cross section of the industry.
The headquarters of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange is located in downtown Sarasota at the northwest corner of Second Street and Lemon Avenue at 1487 Second Street, Suite "B".
